I, as a Creative, have been wrestling with this a LOT over the past couple of years, however; I had a very interesting breakthrough in the last quarter of the year, last year after much contemplation. For me, AI is a "manifestation tool" for the most part. I liken AI to Photoshop OR any other "manifestation tool". I believe that as Creatives, we have given the manifestation tools way too much credit (over the years) which has now distorted our perception of AI. Without laboring this, I align with the idea that human creativity, in it's highest form, a God given gift, rest in our ability to Invent - SO I agree wholeheartedly with Alex Kantrowitz observations. Our ability to articulate, OR prompt an idea clearly to the machine (AI) and it interpret the prompt for the purpose of manifestation is a new relationship structure. A symbiotic one where we are replacing, let's say "Photoshop" for a system that can "manifest" in a faster more efficient way. We never called "Photoshop" the "Artist" - NOR did we say that "Photoshop" was or IS creative - We've always kept it in it's rightful place - A tool. AI is no different (in my opinion). The power rest in the "Original Prompt" - which is formed in mind (and heart) of a Human.
